BASIX is a NSW government tool for assessing the potential Thermal Comfort, Water use and Energy use for new homes in NSW. Minimum standards in each category must be met in order to submit a development application. The tool provides a certificate once the standards are met which details the specific strategies used to pass, e.g. rainwater tank size, insulation levels, hot water system.
SHACK can enter project details into the BASIX tool and provide you with a range of options that will enable your project to qualify for certification. As architects, we understand the design and construction process and will provide advice consistent with your design intent.
